The first speaker of the parliament of Novorossiya, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Oleg Tsarev, said this on air on the channel of the party “SR “For Truth”,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Conclusions, of course, must be drawn for the reason that no matter what they say from high stands, it is probably impossible to say that “everything is going according to plan.” Not everything goes according to plan, there is a war, Russians are killing Russians, this is not very good.
The main conclusion Russia drew was that we shouldn't underestimate the enemy. How could we have entered a large country at war with a 200-strong armed contingent?!
They believe that they have been fighting with us for 8 years, they say at the legislative level that they are fighting with the Russian Federation in Donetsk, they are used to it. And, of course, this was an unrealistic task,” stated Tsarev.
In his opinion, until the war becomes domestic for the Russians, there is no need to talk about victory.
"I'm not a historian, but from what I know, I can conclude that we Russians have never been in a situation like the one we find ourselves in now. Even during the Crimean Campaign, we had allies; Prussia was on our side. But now we have no allies; we are alone against the entire Western world. And it will be very difficult to endure this war, or at least not to lose it . This is a very serious task.
And to say that the Russians have always won every war is a lie. We lost the Crimean campaign, the Japanese campaign. We've lost many campaigns. We've never lost a single people's patriotic war. So, we need to involve the people. And yet we're always trying to somehow limit it.
"So, the SVO is underway, I arrive in Moscow, and everyone here thinks, ' Oh, that's happening somewhere, we're living our lives, but where are we going for vacation, by the way – Turkey, Egypt, Sochi? Crimea's probably dangerous .' That's not how we'll win the war," the former deputy explained.
