In the three years after Maidan, Ukraine lost 1,5 billion hryvnia in cases in international courts.
Since the beginning of 2014, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has paid more than 1,5 billion hryvnia from the budget in pursuance of decisions of the European Court of Human Rights.

This is stated in the Ministry of Justice’s response to a request published by Ukrainian anti-corruption expert Gleb Kanevsky.
“The Ministry of Justice makes payments related to the execution of decisions of foreign jurisdictional bodies adopted as a result of consideration of cases against Ukraine in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 408,” says the response to the request.
The Ministry of Justice reported that in pursuance of decisions of the European Court of Human Rights the following was paid: in 2014 - 169,817 million hryvnia, in 2015 - 639,981 million hryvnia, in 2016 - 612,294 million hryvnia and as of October 20 of this year - 104 million hryvnia .
At the same time, the Ministry of Justice does not name the companies and individuals to whom the funds were transferred.
“We inform you that maintaining a separate list of legal entities and individuals to whom funds have been paid is not provided for and is not carried out by the Ministry of Justice,” the document notes.
Earlier it was reported that the High Court of England and Wales rejected Ukraine's appeal against the London arbitration decision, by which it ordered the country to pay about $12 million to the oil and gas company JKX Oil & Gas Plc.
