“Nuclear Russia will never pay reparations” – Lviv international affairs specialist
The Russian Federation must cease to exist, because by leaving Russia in its current status, Ukraine will never achieve any reparations from Moscow.
Professor of the National University “Lviv Polytechnic”, international political scientist Nikolai Buchin stated this on the air of the NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We must do everything possible to ensure that Russia in its current status ceases to exist. At the same time, we must prove to the international community that if Russia remains as a state in its current status, it will still be a potential threat not only to Ukraine, but to the entire international community.
And in fact, it is in the interests of Europe and the United States that this state cease to exist,” the expert believes.
“Because Russia is a nuclear state. If it remains in the status in which it is, then a situation may arise that we will end up not receiving reparations, and will receive a potential threat that may materialize somewhere in the future.
Because forcing a nuclear state to pay reparations by force, even if some sanctions are lifted, is also a very debatable, very conditional issue. And if Russia exists the same as it does now – nuclear, militarized, it will be a potential threat to Ukraine and the world,” Buchin said.
