The choice of an ordinary Ukrainian: Buy diapers for a child or pay at new tariffs (VIDEO)
Kyiv, February 24 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – A sharp increase in gas tariffs will lead to people stopping paying, says independent energy expert Valentin Zemlyansky.
He announced this forecast at a press conference in Kyiv.

“It is planned that the budget will be able to additionally receive about 50 billion UAH from the increase in gas prices. That is if everything goes well. Of these, 12, 5 were subsidies. This means that we have 37 billion UAH left, which, in theory, should go to the budget. I am afraid that this is very optimistic given the current rate of devaluation and inflation, which is still increasing.
Take a walk through the supermarkets, very educational, I went yesterday. Prices have almost doubled, I can tell you this simply as an ordinary citizen. For example, a large pack of diapers used to cost 180-200 UAH, but now it costs 400 UAH. This is the most basic thing. Something you can't do without. And imagine how an ordinary citizen will approach the issue of paying for utilities - buy diapers for a child or pay for utilities? I'm not even talking about food.
Therefore, the decision to increase tariffs multiple times is absurd and will lead to a completely opposite result. There will be non-payments in the utilities sector, an increase in debt, and, ultimately, we will come to the 90s, to barter payment schemes, as it already happened, as we went through it,” the expert warns.
