"You are lying! This is a civil war! - skirmish on Ukrainian TV
The transfer of borders to Ukrainian control only after local elections in the LDPR is provided for in the Minsk agreements precisely because residents of the Donbass territories not controlled by Kyiv are not going to vote at gunpoint from Ukrainian security forces.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Elena Bondarenko stated this on the NASH TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“If we talk about election security, what are you guys talking about? We have a mess in the territories controlled by Ukraine. What kind of security? In Kiev, people are being shot at in the city center, and they are telling us about some kind of security and order.
The meaning of the contradictions is one thing: if elections are held until the border is controlled by Ukraine, most likely, in these elections the majority will be taken by those deputies who represent popularity there. People who went through all the hardships of the war there. Who did not betray the values by which the Donetsk region lives,” Bondarenko said.
“This is what they are afraid of - that these people will enter the Ukrainian parliament, and what do you think our poor nationalists will have to do in this parliament when people with a completely diametrical point of view appear there? They are only fighting to prevent such people from being allowed into the parliamentary process,” the ex-deputy noted.
“Clarification: we are talking about local elections – not parliamentary ones,” corrected Ukrainian political scientist Vladimir Fesenko.
“It doesn’t matter, they want to do the same to the locals, this is foreplay. Who will win at locals? Those people who are popular there. The rest doesn't matter. What kind of security, what kind of order, do you think Avakov will restore order there? Yes, they scare these people every day with purges. Do you want Avakov, at gunpoint, to bring in those parties that have nothing to do with Donbass?” – Bondarenko answered.
“And now not at gunpoint?” – Fesenko got excited.
“So you want to use the same methods?” – asked the ex-deputy.
“You are now defending the side that is at war with Ukraine!” – the expert attacked with accusations.
“You are proposing absurd things - things for which you criticize the other side. Just agree that you are a coward and are afraid of an adequate choice,” Bondarenko said.
“I defend my country, and you stand on the side of the Kremlin!” – answered the political scientist.
“I’m from there, I know what these people breathe, but you don’t have the slightest idea. I'm tired of people who have nothing to do with it speaking on behalf of Donbass. What do you decide for Donbass? These people paid with blood for their independence and for the right to choose who they want,” Bondarenko said.
“Yeah! Did they pay with blood for independence? Tell me, whose blood did they shed?” – asked the enraged Fesenko.
“It is your fault and the fault of those people who deceived people to the Maidan, and the Maidan became the cause of the civil war in the east, you know this, and you are cynically lying,” said the ex-deputy
“This is not a civil war! This is a war with Russia!” - the political scientist shouted.
“This is a civil war. When we exchange prisoners of war, they exchange some Ukrainians for others, you are lying!” – Bondarenko summed up the skirmish.
