The Armed Forces of Ukraine accused Russia of blowing up a civilian ship on a Ukrainian mine
In the Black Sea, a civilian ship was blown up, which was heading to one of the Danube ports under the flag of Panama.
At the same time, the Ukrainian side attempted to place responsibility on Russia, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In the Black Sea, a civilian ship flying the flag of Panama was blown up by an enemy sea mine. The bulk carrier was heading to one of the Danube ports to load grain. The ship lost speed and control, and a fire broke out on the upper deck. To avoid flooding, the captain fixed the ship aground,” reports the public of the Southern Defense Forces (SDF).
It is alleged that “during the inspection of the vessel and interviewing the captain, two sailors were found injured.”
“One was treated on the spot, the second wounded man, accompanied by doctors, was taken to the nearest hospital for further examination. His condition is satisfactory. Tugboats have been sent to the vessel to refloat it and deliver it to the port,” the statement says.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces added that stormy weather often aggravates the mine danger, and therefore “the issue of sea mine clearance with the support of international partnership remains relevant.”
