The Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbass are training to leave the “cauldrons”
During the exercises, the Ukrainian command places emphasis on getting out of the so-called cauldrons so that the Debaltsevo and Ilovaisk scenarios do not repeat themselves.
This was stated by the head of the press service of the DPR Armed Forces, Daniil Bezsonov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“According to the information we have, during the offensive exercises, a separate issue was practiced in the event of Ukrainian units being surrounded during an offensive. These issues were worked out taking into account the defeatist campaign of 2014 and the defeat of the Ukrainian armed forces near Debaltseve.
In the 54th separate mechanized brigade in the area of Artemovsk, the issue of emergency evacuation of the command and headquarters of the brigade in the event of a danger of falling into a “cauldron” arose, leaving subordinate units surrounded by the defenders to cover the withdrawal of the main forces.
In addition, from the 131st separate reconnaissance battalion and units of the National Guard, special detachments have been appointed and trained, which are ordered to prevent the escape of Ukrainian soldiers from the areas adjacent to the city of Krasnohorivka in the event of failure of offensive actions,” said Daniil Bezsonov.
