Military expert, former Colonel of the Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleg Zhdanov stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There remains, according to our estimate, about forty thousand. As it was, it remains so (grouping of Russian troops in Kherson - ed.) Yes, there was rotation. Some were taken out who are not particularly important there, like the National Guard, and some were brought there. Landing and others, even mobilized to replenish personnel. Plus, a provocation is being prepared in terms of dressing up special forces and paratroopers in civilian clothes to create a picture as if local residents in Kherson will defend themselves against the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He warned that the Russians were simply “luring the Ukrainian Armed Forces to Kherson.”
“In my opinion, this is a classic information psychological special operation in terms of the fact that they provoke the Ukrainian Armed Forces to go on the offensive, having a fairly powerful group, the most combat-ready, by the way, precisely numerically today along the entire front line. And they provoke us to go on the offensive. For our offensive to fail and for us to suffer very heavy losses. That’s why there is this whole accompanying information campaign about the fact that they are leaving Kherson today or tomorrow, and a “gesture of goodwill”, and whatever they just remembered,” Zhdanov worries.
