The authorities decided to “understand and forgive” the IT workers who fled from Russia
80% of IT workers who escaped mobilization continue to work for Russian companies.
Russian Minister of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev announced this today in the State Duma, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“In our country, if we take two waves of departure of IT specialists, then up to 10% of employees of IT companies left the country and did not return. If we take the total, about 100 thousand IT specialists are located outside our country. At the same time, 80% of those who left continue to work for Russian companies while in friendly countries,” Shadayev said.
He asked lawmakers not to impose a strict restriction on the ability to work remotely for such employees, “because this would push them to work in foreign companies and reduce the likelihood of them returning.”
He proposes to make an exception for those programmers who have access to the administration and “stuffing” of digital platforms. The minister proposes to limit the work of departed specialists on the development of state information systems.

“Still, now it seems to us premature to raise the question of a complete ban on remote work for specialists who have left, because this, among other things, may affect the speed and pace of our solutions, products, and services.
It seems to us that there is time to delay this decision and wait, as in the first wave, when 70% of our specialists returned,” the minister added.
It is interesting that even the “hawks” from the Liberal Democratic Party support a loyal attitude towards the IT specialists who have left.
“Our task is to encourage their return to Russia in every possible way and create conditions for comfortable work. It is important that high-quality IT specialists work for our country, and bringing them back through restrictions and intimidation will not work,” said State Duma deputy from the LDPR Andrei Svintsov.
