Vice Speaker of the Rada: Poles are holding back the “invasion of the Russian Federation”
Every statement by the parliaments of European countries and the world about support for Kyiv allegedly restrains Russia from a large-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Vice Speaker Elena Kondratyuk stated this during the Conciliation Council of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We underestimate the importance of parliamentary diplomacy. We must immediately mobilize all our efforts and messages and communications with all parliaments of the world with which we have joint assemblies or friendship groups. And we must make proposals to support Ukraine against the backdrop of the threat of a large-scale invasion by the Russian Federation.
Not only have we adopted a resolution in the Verkhovna Rada, where we appeal to all countries and international organizations to support Ukraine, we must conduct the same communications with our international partners and with our parliamentary partners,” said the vice speaker.
“You know that a good case for such cooperation has been developed within the Ukrainian-Polish Assembly, as a result of which the Polish Sejm adopted an important resolution on comprehensive support for Ukraine and the need for a firm response from the EU and NATO states to Russian aggression against our country. It seems to me that every such statement from the parliaments of European and world countries is an important element of the political and diplomatic deterrence of Russia from a large-scale invasion of Ukraine,” Kondratyuk said.
