Hungary wants the OSCE Mission to observe not only in Donbass, but also in Transcarpathia
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijjártó, said that he is in favor of expanding the presence of the OSCE mission in Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He said this during a meeting with representatives of the Society of Hungarian Culture of Transcarpathia, the website of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry reports.

“The series of attacks on the Hungarian minority is increasingly worrying. We expect that the Ukrainian authorities will guarantee the safety of Hungarians from Transcarpathia, and we welcome the expansion of the presence of OSCE observers in Transcarpathia,” Szijjártó said.
He also added that he expects Ukraine to ensure the security of Hungarians in this region.
“Hungary will again support Ukraine’s aspirations for European and Euro-Atlantic integration only if laws that limit the rights of Hungarians are not put into effect,” added the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry.
Let us remind you that recently the Hungarian Ambassador to Ukraine Erno Keshken said that there is nothing wrong with autonomy and “the demands of the Hungarian national minorities in Transcarpathia to receive autonomy are not separatism.” The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stated that the Hungarian ambassador exceeds his authority.
Earlier, the Society of Hungarian Culture in Ukraine stated that it advocates the introduction of a permanent OSCE mission in Transcarpathia. The organization thanks law enforcement officers for uncovering an attack on the office of the Society of Hungarians of Transcarpathia in February.
In addition, the organization “welcomes the OSCE proposal to create a special monitoring mission in Transcarpathia, since, given the events that have occurred in the region recently, this is an extremely necessary initiative.”
Hungary wants the OSCE Mission to monitor not only Donbass, but also Transcarpathia.
