A Just Russia proposes to rename the Gulf of Finland as a sign of protest
Russia should rename the Gulf of Finland as a sign of protest against the election of Jussi Hallaho as Speaker of the Finnish Parliament, who called for “turning the murder of Russians into a carnival on the verge of Ukrainian Yatsenyuks.”
A Just Russia deputy, Oleg Nilov, announced this today at a press conference in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Today in St. Petersburg they are already asking me questions. With such an attitude, such “gratitude” from this neighbor, why is our beloved Gulf of Finland called the Gulf of Finland? There is a proposal to return the name Nevsky to it. Exactly 300 years ago, Peter the Great, when founding Kronstadt, named this bay Kronstadt.
There are toponymists and commissions that over the last 10 years have been too conservative and sensitive to any proposals to return old names or refuse to name streets with unacceptable names,” Nilov said.
He proposed not to wait for the deadline required by law and to name the streets after the heroes of the Northern Military District now.
