Next year, Ukrainian monopolists were allowed to raise electricity prices every month
From January 1, 2017, licensees for the supply of electricity at a regulated tariff will be able to increase electricity tariffs on a monthly basis.

“The transition to market-based formation of retail tariffs for electrical energy supplied to consumers is being carried out in stages. At the first stage, the maximum level of tariff increases cannot exceed 3% of the tariff level as of December 01, 2016, with a further monthly increase of no more than 3% of the tariff level of the previous month,” says the section of the resolution “Procedure for calculating retail tariffs for electrical energy for consumers of voltage classes 1 and 2 on the territory of Ukraine.”
The decision of the national regulator regarding the establishment of retail tariffs will be formalized by resolution and made public no later than the 23rd day of the month preceding the billing month.
As stated in the message about the official promulgation of the Procedure for the market formation of retail tariffs for electrical energy supplied to consumers, this regulatory act was published in the “Official Gazette of Ukraine” on September 23, 2016.
