Employees of the Russian special services arrested two diggers and, through pressure, recruited them to prepare provocations in the Kyiv metro.

The detainees themselves stated this during interrogation by the SBU, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

It should be noted that during the interrogation, both detainees did not disclose their personal information.

“I have known the detainee since 2015. At that time, we came into contact for a joint study of metro facilities in Moscow; we created our own VGD group, which stands for “High. Deep. Far". This winter, on January 2, we were detained in Moscow by law enforcement officers, including the federal security service, for entering one of the terminal facilities of the Moscow metro system. There I first saw FSB officer Yuri Mikhailovich. After filling out an explanatory note in which we talked about our motives, they seemingly let us go, but with a hint that our situation was difficult and we would have to talk with them several more times.

Two weeks after our first meeting with law enforcement agencies, Yuri Mikhailovich contacted us again. He made an appointment with me. At the moment when I arrived at the meeting, he was not there alone, but with another FSB officer who did not introduce himself at that time. There I was informed that my situation was very difficult and that I had a very real risk of losing my passport or receiving an impressive prison sentence, and that in order to resolve this situation I might have to cooperate with the FSB,” said the first detainee.

He noted that after that he and his friend lived their lives, exactly until the beginning of May, when they agreed to go to Kyiv.

“I live on the territory of the Russian Federation in the city of Moscow. On January 2, 2018, I was detained by law enforcement agencies at a security facility. There I first met FSB officers, who put psychological pressure on me to become their agent,” said the second.

On the SBU website itself, they note that since the “Russian diggers” did not commit a crime and actively cooperated with law enforcement agencies, “based on European values and the rule of law,” a decision was made to forcibly return the diggers to the territory of the Russian Federation. In addition, they were also banned from entering Ukraine for five years.
