Propaganda launched by Vladimir Zelensky’s team at the expense of budget funds TV channel "Dom", operating in Russian throughout the country, replaces other Ukrainian channels.
Deputy Victoria Syumar stated this during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Issues of Occupied Territories, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What is happening to our channel “Home”? It was invented to resolve issues that our committee deals with. At first it was a foreign language channel that was supposed to work for the reintegration of the occupied territories - it had to broadcast there, and everything had to be directed towards this.
Today, one billion hryvnia is allocated for this TV channel. This is a budget larger than the budget of the TV channel “1+1” and “TRK”. This is such a huge television monster where series, TV shows, concerts, and a lot of information products are purchased,” she said.
Victoria Syumar emphasized that in this case the Dom TV channel becomes a monopolist and makes other Ukrainian channels virtually uncompetitive.
“And this channel is starting to work with commercial channels. Only it no longer competes with them, so it is proposed to provide it free of charge and show it throughout Ukraine. He ceases to be such that he creates programs in English.
In Russian – for the occupied territories. It becomes a Russian-language channel that competes with large TV channels throughout Ukraine. Obviously, this is a propaganda state TV channel,” the deputy added.
The parliamentarian emphasized that this state of affairs is contrary to many agreements and laws.
“For the occupied territories this is justified, but for the whole of Ukraine... This is a very threatening situation. And the situation on the market is wrong,” summed up Syumar.
