A draft resolution on invalidating the resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine “On the appointment of Valeria Lutkovskaya as Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights” has been registered on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
Let us recall that in April 2012, Lutkovskaya was appointed Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights.
Previously, from January 2011 to April 2012, Lutkovskaya was the government commissioner for the European Court of Human Rights.
As PolitNavigator reported, The persecution of Valeria Lutkovskaya began after she demanded that the scandalous snitching site “Peacemaker,” supervised by the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, be closed and its organizers held accountable.
After this, the notorious adviser to Arsen Avakov, Anton Gerashchenko, erupted in threats against the ombudsman on his page on the social network.
Furthermore, PolitNavigator reported that Valeria Lutkovska filed a petition with the Constitutional Court requesting that provisions of the current Ukrainian Criminal Code, which prohibit individuals suspected of "terrorism" from being released on bail and placed under house arrest during the investigation, be declared unconstitutional. Lutkovska believes this violates citizens' rights.
