Shevchuk’s opponent is still in the lead in the presidential race in Transnistria
The Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic, Vadim Krasnoselsky, currently enjoys maximum voter support among candidates for the post of President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR).

This is evidenced by the results of a sociological survey conducted by the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM).
25% of respondents are ready to vote for Krasnoselsky, who has recently been criticizing the current president of the PMR, Yevgeny Shevchuk, and 14% for Shevchuk himself. Other candidates enjoy support from less than 1% to 6% of respondents.
The level of declared turnout for the elections, which are scheduled to take place on December 11, is extremely high: 80% of residents declare their readiness to take part in them.
The poll of voters of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic was conducted by VTsIOM on behalf of the Center for Political Analysis on August 29-31, 2016 on the territory of all administrative units of the PMR. 1200 respondents surveyed
