The UN condemned the Right Sector for discrimination against sexual minorities in Ukraine
Human rights violations continue systematically in Ukraine. Thus, during the period from September to December, the UN mission recorded a number of attacks by right-wing radical organizations against representatives of sexual minorities and persons who hold different social and political views.

This statement was made today in Kyiv by the Chairman of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, Fiona Fraser, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
During the reporting period, the UN mission continued to document attacks against individuals who belong to minorities or hold opposing social and political views.
“We have noted an increase in intolerance and aggression on the part of extreme right-wing groups that use threats and violence to achieve their goals. Thus, in Nikolaev, the Sokol organization and the Right Sector disrupted the presentation of a book and an event in memory of the Maidan due to threats. Such threats and violence very often go unpunished. And this, in turn, contributes to a growing sense of impunity,” commented Fiona Fraser.
Another example of such intolerant behavior towards minorities occurred in the fall in Zaporozhye.
“On September 30, participants in the equality festival in Zaporozhye were attacked by unknown assailants, which led to the hospitalization of some of them. The attackers openly demonstrated the discriminatory nature of their actions and shouted: “There is no place for people like you,” Fraser said.
Fiona Fraser also noted that the police did not want to record this incident as a hate attack.
