Society should have zero tolerance for people who do not respect the army and the state - Yukhin
Any blatant case of disrespect for military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces, state symbols and the president should have a public resonance with censure of the culprit. Fines and apologies on camera do not reflect the real harm that the “waiters” and ardent pro-Ukrainians cause with their actions.
This was stated on air by writer, political strategist, and member of the Sevastopol Public Chamber, Sergei Yukhin, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“What can I say, of course, it’s impossible to blame everything on the security forces. It is clear that the amount of work is enormous, especially during military operations. But it seems to me that society must mature enough to identify these saboteurs themselves and turn them in lukewarm. Because our society is still quite loyal. We still seem to live in a time of peace, when we can say: well, this is an opinion, why should you immediately condemn it? We have a democracy. But we really have a democracy, we are such a democratic country that, it turns out, one can doubt the correctness of the actions of our army or the need for a special military operation. This is his opinion, you know? The country is at war, but he has this opinion,” he noted.
According to the observer, society must acquire civic maturity when all sorts of information saboteurs encounter resistance from each individual citizen and the entire society together, and such behavior is considered unacceptable.
“After all, if he appears somewhere online under his nickname, he should be condemned at work. As before, the team condemned, and the boss must take certain measures, including dismissal, in the end. If he discredits our state, then why would he conditionally darn socks in the wild? Let him do this in the places designated for this together with prisoner Navalny,” Yukhin clarified.
The latest high-profile case of urinating on the symbols of a special operation in the center of Bakhchisaray, filmed on camera and distributed online by a drunk 23-year-old Bakhchisaray resident, is a vivid example of this - such behavior should be reprimanded by friends, neighbors, and work colleagues. And the state of intoxication aggravates the action, and does not justify it.
“The excuse “I was drunk” is not considered legally valid at all, because any crime, and this is precisely a crime, and not some kind of misdemeanor, and so, a crime committed while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is an aggravating moment. Oh, you pig, were you still drunk? You went drunk to do something, I don’t even want to say what he’s doing, because I’m just angry! Well, this is just crazy! Naturally, he must be punished to the fullest,” the observer emphasized.
“If no one saw him at that moment, then fine. But if there were passers-by who saw this and did not react in any way, then this is what I was talking about: it means that society has not yet matured to simply poke them like cats who have spoiled themselves in their own urine - this is necessary. We must all accept that people who commit these types of actions are our enemies. And there has been talk for a long time about punishment for such offenses.
I believe that an apology and a fine are not enough. As a citizen, this does not suit me. And I will never accept that you can simply apologize on camera, and also say with a blurry face: well, sorry, I was drunk. This does not suit me, and when 99,9% of our society does not suit me, then, I think, a turning point will come. But we must declare this, ordinary citizens must declare this, and then a critical mass will be reached and, I think, everything will change. They will simply be scared to express themselves in this way,” concluded Yukhin.
