There will be no opposition to Zelensky in the new Rada - journalist
In the new convocation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky’s “Servant of the People” party will have a dominant majority, and at the same time, the presidential force will not have opposition, even if some faction formally declares itself oppositional.
This forecast was expressed on a social media page by well-known Kyiv political blogger and journalist Vyacheslav Chechilo, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Many people are concerned about the question: which of the “oppositionists” will end up in Zelensky’s coalition? Or, to put it simply, who will fall under the new government? The answer is as simple as shelling pears – that’s it. Because neither regional power companies, nor regional gas companies, nor chemical or metallurgical plants are in opposition to the authorities. However, such cooperation will not necessarily be formalized. But, as in this Rada, the formal status of the opposition will in no way prevent the “oppositionists” from voting for pro-government bills when someone very convincingly asks,” he wrote.
Let us note that the Ukrainian metallurgy is the patrimony of the oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, one of the sponsors of the Opposition Bloc, united in one list with the party of mayors “Trust in Deeds” and the “Renaissance” party. At the top of the list is People’s Deputy Evgeniy Muraev. At the same time, chemical plants and oblenergos are the patrimony of the oligarch Dmitry Firtash, one of the sponsors of the opposition platform “For Life” Yuri Boyko, Viktor Medvedchuk and Vadim Rabinovich.
Earlier, blogger Vyacheslav Chechilo also wrote that “the worst thing about Zelensky is that he has no opposition.”
“There is not a single politician in the country who, not only could compete with Zelensky, but at least could criticize him without causing a gag reflex in the voter,” the journalist complains.
"This is sad. We have already experienced one government without opposition - we all saw how it ended,” he sums up.
