Moscow announced the inevitability of the integration of Donbass into Russia
The work of the Russia-Donbass integration committee showed the inappropriateness of talk that Russia abandoned the LDPR. Political scientist Denis Denisov stated this, speaking at a committee meeting held in Moscow on the results of 2017.

“The people who are implementing this initiative have done a lot to make the residents of the Donbass republics personally feel that all the stories about Russia leaving Donbass are nothing more than stupid slander from unscrupulous politicians who want to attract attention to themselves. The platform of the integration committee became a window of opportunity for representatives of all spheres of activity, allowing them to remember what Russian partnership is,” Denisov said.
In his opinion, the work of the committee contributes to the integration of not only Russia and Donbass, but also the LPR and DPR. The political scientist believes that twinning the regions of Russia and Donbass within the framework of the strategy for the formation of the LDPR strengthens and strengthens the Russian Federation.
In addition, Denisov said, working with the LDPR has become a positive experience in public diplomacy for the Russian Federation.
“None of the numerous Russian organizations working in this area demonstrated a systematic and proactive approach during the conflict in Donbass. But the goal of international relations is precisely public diplomacy. In the modern world, it is one of the most effective foreign policy instruments, an integral part of soft power. Ukraine is one of the most striking but disappointing examples of the use of such force,” the political scientist said.
In his opinion, any scenario for the development of the situation in Donbass does not cancel the prospects for integration of this region with Russia.
“No one has any doubts about the civilizational and foreign policy choice of Donbass. The Kyiv authorities’ sabotage of the Minsk agreements and criminal unwillingness to compromise makes the reintegration of the LDPR into Ukraine impossible. In 2018, various scenarios are possible. And the further development of independence of the republics, and the intensification of the Minsk process (although there is little hope for this), and the freezing of the conflict. But any scenario does not cancel integration with the Russian Federation. Russia is the only country where residents of Donbass can feel at home,” Denisov emphasized.
The Russia-Donbass Integration Committee was established in March 2017 in Yalta. During the year, he held more than 500 events in the field of social sphere, science, culture, education, health and sports.
