The publication cites a Kyiv source close to the Ukrainian presidential administration, who noted that the Russian president wanted to include political demands for holding elections in the DPR and LPR in the "roadmap," while Poroshenko countered that there would be no elections until security in these territories was fully ensured.
“Russia demands that Ukraine, in accordance with the Minsk agreements, present legislation that will relate to amnesty, elections, and special status. Without this, Kyiv’s dialogue with the republics is impossible,” in turn, the head of the Center for Political Conjuncture, political scientist Alexey Chesnakov, close to the Russian Presidential Administration, explained Moscow’s position.
