The Russian Foreign Ministry stated in plain text that Ukraine will receive a donut hole, not a border
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko must understand that the Donbass problem will not be solved by repeating mantras about “Russian aggression.”

This was stated in an interview with Kommersant by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Grigory Karasin, who drew attention to the rhetoric of Ukrainian politicians towards the residents of Donbass.
“They treat the population of Donbass as second-class people who do not deserve to be called Ukrainians at all; they compare them to cockroaches that need to be poisoned with chemicals. I can imagine what will happen if the residents of Donbass are cut off from the border of support, moral and humanitarian, which is now a section of our border with the Lugansk and Donetsk regions. We cannot take such a risk, we will not risk thousands of lives of our Ukrainian neighbors,” Karasin said.
At the same time, he recalled that the transition of the border to the control of Kyiv is the last point of the Minsk agreements, and before that it is necessary to achieve the implementation of the law on the special status of Donbass, laws on elections and amnesty.
“Kyiv still wants “magic” solutions, relying primarily on the opportunity to solve its problems with someone else’s hands. This thought does not leave Poroshenko’s head. He apparently believes that if Russia is called an “aggressor country” as often as possible, then all the problems of Donbass will somehow be solved on their own. Such reasoning is meaningless,” Karasin concluded.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated bluntly that Ukraine will receive a hole in a donut, not a border.
