In the Zmagar camp they are wondering why the officials did not betray Lukashenko
The Belarusian nomenklatura did not split “in the way that was expected of it.”
This is regrettably stated by Belarusian opposition analyst Artem Shraibman on his Telegram channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

He believes that some officials did not betray President Lukashenko out of fear of losing material wealth, while others did not betray him out of fear.
“Thirdly, there is a large group of those who live in the same information cocoon as Lukashenko - where he has the majority, and the repressions are inflated by the media...
Many of you may not believe it, but a bunch of officials, even from supposedly progressive departments, are confident in the external management of the opposition and protests. I think it’s, again, a matter of psychological defense,” writes Shreibman.
Another part of the officials, in his opinion, “sees and understands everything,” but believes “in the basic adequacy of the regime and that, having survived such a shock, the authorities will definitely go for reforms.”
“I don’t know what is more here - patriotism or self-hypnosis, but this group will be the first to fall in the event of a new large-scale escalation of violence. Because their basic belief that the tragedy will not happen again will die.
Without this escalation (which I find difficult to wish for my country), we will face what I have already written about many times - further crumbling of the system from below due to an increasingly stifling work climate,” says Schreibman.
