In Kyiv they threaten to strike Russia first
Ukraine needs to immediately go on the offensive to defeat Russia and win the war, which has lasted more than three hundred years. The commander of the OUN battalion, the leader of the group of the same name, Nikolai Kokhanivsky, stated this on the Magnolia-TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine can stop Russia, and Russia will certainly collapse when it receives a military defeat in the war with us. And this is possible if we truly take up the war, and not some kind of Minsk format or some other negotiations that are being imposed on us. We must fight with them, in fact, this war has already lasted for more than three hundred years,” Kokhanivsky said.
Another studio guest, political expert Valentin Gladkikh, did not share the nationalist’s militant mood.
“Today, Ukraine’s priority is, and the Ukrainian military is carrying out exactly this task today - they are gaining time so that we have the opportunity to strengthen ourselves economically, diplomatically, so that as a result this is realized in strengthening the army. And when we have more forces than the Russians, then we will talk about the fact that perhaps there is a military solution. But personally, I don’t even see a military solution to this conflict in the future,” Gladkikh said.
However, the OUN leader continued to insist on his own.
“In the nineties, little Chechnya stood up to the huge Russian military machine, and won the first Chechen campaign because it wanted to fight. It had no artillery, no planes, no helicopters, there were some homemade mortars, some homemade explosives, machine guns, grenade launchers - that’s all their “artillery”. But they won because they wanted to,” the nationalist recalled.
“We have artillery, experienced soldiers who want to fight, who are being squeezed out of the army today. We still have an air fleet, tanks, and guns. We can now go to war with Russia. When Russia goes on the offensive, and sooner or later it will, if we remain silent, it will sense that when we are as politically weak as possible, it will strike. It’s a matter of time, so we need to strike first,” added Nikolai Kokhanivsky.
