The Ukrainian authorities deprived military personnel of bonuses of 30 thousand hryvnia, and then allegedly returned them, but then, through the mouth of the head of the tax committee, Daniil Getmantsev, stated that there is no money for this. However, there is an option to ask for funds from “Western partners”.
Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Roman Kostenko said this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You say – we can turn to our partners, is this an effective mechanism? Because there was information that the partners do not pay salaries to the Ukrainian military, they give money for various projects, for humanitarian aid, but the salary comes from the Ukrainian budget. Is it possible to find some kind of solution here?” asked the radio host.
“If we talk about partners, we need to explain to them: now our soldiers are fighting so that their soldiers do not fight. I'm sure if we had lost, their soldiers would have fought, and they wouldn't have fought for $1000. This, speaking pragmatically, is simply about salary, I’m not talking about honor, dignity, someone’s life, and they will pay for it. This needs to be explained.
Yes, they say - we are not giving money to war, but maybe it’s time to open our eyes. You are having the biggest war in modern history, and we are not giving money for the war. At the same time, we give tanks, artillery, shells - this is some kind of double standard,” the committee member was indignant.
