Kiev admitted: Crimea will not return
Even after Vladimir Putin leaves the presidency, the next Russian leader will not return Crimea to Ukraine. Political scientist Kost Bondarenko stated this on the Ukrainian TV channel NewsOne, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Even if Putin leaves tomorrow, let’s be honest, if something happens tomorrow and Putin ceases to be president, the situation in Russia is such that we should not expect liberalization of the regime.
Most likely, Russia may follow the path of a more brutal regime, or a right-wing conservative regime, or a left-wing regime. They have no liberal alternative.
Those who are shown very often and are presented as a certain opposition to Putin, then this opposition is outright clowns,” Bondarenko said.
“It is realistic to expect that someone will come tomorrow after Putin, who will come and say: “Take Crimea back, we are starting everything from scratch” - this is a utopia,” the political scientist stated.
PolitNavigator previously reported that faith in regaining control of Crimea is declining in Ukraine.
