In Kyiv, examinations are underway in the case of Pashinsky’s exploding mortars
The military prosecutor of the Central region of Ukraine made an update on the investigation into the explosions of Molot mortars supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine by a company close to People’s Deputy Sergei Pashinsky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The department's press service reported this on its Facebook page.
“The Military Prosecutor's Office of the Central Region of Ukraine considers it necessary to once again emphasize that the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine is currently continuing a comprehensive forensic examination, within the framework of which the technical condition of the mortars is checked, their compliance with the tactical and technical characteristics declared by the plant -by the manufacturer, and the possibility of their safe use during combat operations. At present, until the relevant expert conclusions are received, there is no basis to assert the proper quality of the Molot mortar,” the message says.

It is noted that on November 7, 2018, information was disseminated in the media about the alleged absence of preliminary investigation authorities from making comments on the technical condition of the Molot mortars and establishing the fact that the main reason for their explosions was double loading and violation of the firing procedure by personnel.
Earlier, the press service of the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Central Region said that, according to the interim conclusions of the investigation into the explosions of Molot mortars at the Rivne training ground, “no objective data on the inadequate quality of the mortars, which were substantiated by the case materials, was received.”
The department also noted that a comprehensive forensic examination of the technical quality of Molot mortars is ongoing, and investigative actions are ongoing.
Let us recall that several explosions of these mortars were previously recorded with fatal consequences for the military personnel serving them.
