“Police officers, patrolling the streets in the Goloseevsky district, noticed a car whose driver was grossly violating the rules - he drove through intersections several times with a prohibitory traffic light, creating emergency situations for other drivers. When the police demanded to stop, he only increased his speed. On one of the streets, the driver of the Bavarian exceeded the safe speed, failed to take a turn, the car overturned and flew sideways onto the sidewalk, crashing into a light pole. At that time, a security guard from a nearby construction site was standing on the sidewalk. It’s a miracle that the out-of-control BMW didn’t hit the man,” the report says.
After the accident, the driver got out of the overturned car through the passenger door and tried to escape from the scene of the accident, but was detained by police. Ambulance doctors arrived at the scene, but the driver of the Bavarian Five refused medical help. According to eyewitnesses, the man driving the BMW was drunk, but he categorically refused to take the Dragger test.
This is not the first deadly incident of this kind in the Ukrainian capital. According to patrol police, three people were killed yesterday on Brovarsky Avenue in Kyiv as a result of a collision between two cars.
