Every fifth flight at Ukraine's main airport was disrupted last year.
In 2017, 19% of all flights did not take off at Boryspil International Airport or did not take off on schedule, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Hromadske TB reports this with reference to a study by AirHelp.
According to the company’s statistics, Boryspil topped the anti-rating in terms of the number of disrupted and delayed flights.
At the same time, Dnepr airport performed the best. Only 2% of flights there were delayed or cancelled.
In total, according to the company’s estimates, in 2017, about 17 flights were canceled or postponed every day in Ukraine.
“The EU regulation provides for compensation for cancellation or delay of a flight connecting Ukrainian airports with European countries in the amount of up to 600 euros per passenger,” the study says.
In general, airlines owe Ukrainian passengers about 2,1 million euros for delays in departure, of which 1,5 million were paid by the capital's Boryspil airport.
Among Ukrainian airlines, the five leaders operate about 93% of all domestic and international flights.
