Donetsk, May 27 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – During yesterday’s fighting in Donetsk, over 50 militiamen were killed. The civilian population suffered comparable losses as a result of the shelling of residential areas by the Ukrainian army.

This was stated by the Prime Minister of the “Donetsk People’s Republic” Alexander Boroday, the Novorossiya portal reports.
“We lost more than 50 militiamen. Especially many people were injured as a result of the Ukrainian army shelling two KAMAZ vehicles that were transporting the wounded from the battlefield near the airport. At least 15 people died there,” Borodai said.
“Two of our KAMAZ trucks were shot both from the air, from helicopters, and from an ambush from the ground. The shooting of the wounded is contrary to all international conventions,” noted one of the DPR leaders.
According to him, the large losses of the militias are explained by the use of aviation against them, in particular helicopters and fighters.
According to the Prime Minister of the DPR, comparable losses were suffered by the civilian population of Donetsk as a result of the shelling by the Ukrainian army of residential areas through which the militias were retreating.
“The families of all the victims will be paid compensation, I hope considerable,” he noted.
He stated that the Ukrainian army in Donetsk controls only the airport. All checkpoints at the entrance to the city are controlled by DPR forces.
“The first half of Tuesday is relatively calm,” Borodai said.
He also denied the words of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov about the absence of victims from the security forces.
“They were advancing, so their losses were average. We intercept their negotiations, they are demoralized and are planning to break out of the airport,” Borodai said.
As Navigator reported, according to eyewitnesses, many residential buildings were damaged in the shelling zones.
