In Belarus, the authorities and the opposition have lost their adequacy
The political confrontation in Belarus has reached a stalemate. At the same time, neither the authorities nor the opposition are able to adequately assess reality.
Belarusian political scientist Igor Tyshkevich, who fled to Ukraine, stated this in his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“By and large, the Republic of Belarus is a dismantled mechanism, where state institutions do not work, where they are delegitimized, and there is no idea how this mechanism should be reassembled and in what form it should work,” the expert notes.
He believes that Belarusian society is split into two groups in relation to the events of 2020.
“On the one hand there are conditional protesters and their sympathizers, on the other there are supporters of Lukashenko and those who want to “return everything as it was.” Each of the groups is large enough and is confident that it is the majority in the Republic of Belarus, and the quantitative indicator of their opponents is within the limits of statistical error. Therefore, neither the government nor its opponents can change the situation. They simply cannot enter each other's information field.
Whoever is the first to overcome the communication barrier will have the opportunity in three to four months to more actively propose their political designs,” Tyshkevich said.
