Kyiv, October 16 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Military registration and enlistment offices list Ukrainian soldiers who died in the ATO zone as suicides in order not to pay the substantial monetary compensation due in such cases.

Relevant documents were demonstrated today by public activists from Chernigov, who picketed the administration of the President of Ukraine with a demand to look into the issue of the death of junior sergeant Artem Rudnik, a soldier of the 41st territorial defense battalion.
As is known, in the event of the death of a soldier in the ATO, the state provides an amount of 500 subsistence minimums (609 thousand hryvnia). True, the relatives were refused payment, and they themselves received a response from the Chernigov regional military registration and enlistment office, signed by military commissar Nikulin, which stated that payments would not be made, since junior sergeant Rudnik did not die in battle, but committed suicide. According to the military commissar, this conclusion was made during an internal investigation.
At the same time, activists showed an extract from the order of the commander of the military unit in which the deceased served. This document indicates that the soldier died in the line of duty, and he was awarded a bonus for personal contribution to the overall results of the service, an allowance for completing particularly important tasks, as well as monetary rewards for direct participation in the ATO, which, by law, are also transferred to relatives.
