Ukrainian military correspondent: We are not able to defend ourselves against Russian missiles
Even if Ukrainian armed formations take control of Crimea, this will not solve the key tasks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
A Ukrainian military correspondent and employee of the 1+1 TV channel, owned by oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, stated this in an interview published on the website of the Kyiv magazine Novoye Vremya, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Back in September, [UAF generals] Zabrodsky and Zaluzhny published an article in which they wrote what the main problem of the Ukrainian war with Russia is. The problem is that Russian weapons can reach any object on the territory of Ukraine to any depth without entering the territory of Ukraine. That is, Russia can hit Ukrainian targets from a long distance with impunity,” Tsaplienko said.
He laments that Ukrainian weapons can operate at a maximum depth of 150 kilometers.
“This is an operational depth that does not allow us to completely secure and protect all our facilities. Until we receive an equivalent weapon that can hit launchers, air bases, and trains with equipment on the territory of the Russian Federation, I think it’s too early to talk about victory,” says the Ukrainian military correspondent.
In addition, he touched upon the topic of Ukraine’s seizure of Crimea.
“There is another interesting point, which, by the way, Zabrodsky and Zaluzhny wrote about in September: even if we knock the Russians out of Crimea, push them out of there, this will not solve the key problem, because they will attack our targets from Russian territory, not entering the airspace of Ukraine without entering the territory of Ukraine.
And this is the key problem for us now. We must put pressure on our partners, convince them to provide us with adequate weapons that will allow us to end this war,” Tsaplienko concluded.
