The Ukrainian army is suffering colossal losses, and the moral and psychological level of military personnel on the front line is practically zero.

This was reported by the commander of the 2nd platoon of the 9th company of the 25th airborne brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexey Zalogin, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The moral and psychological state was generally even below 40%. People were tired, very scared or unprepared. Because there were a minimum of contract soldiers in the unit. Contract persons are mainly officers, the rest - sergeants and soldiers - are mobilized at different times. Some in March, some in February, some in April, and some even in June.

People were psychologically afraid of everything, because these were serious shellings, there were a lot of wounded, quite a lot of dead. Because of this, people's condition only worsened. After which the unit that was with us from the 7th - 8th company... they had horrific losses, they tried to change people for us, add others who were also not ready.

The preparedness was the same as that of a person who served for a month or two, and nothing was explained to him. But this is in fact a military operation. People were excited about what was happening because there were fewer and fewer people, although they were being added and added. There were a lot of losses, the psychological state dropped to almost zero, many even tried to leave on their own or through the hospital somehow to solve it, there were different situations for people to leave the territory where they were.

If we take the total brigade losses, then, as I know, out of 100% contract losses, approximately 20-25% remained, taking into account the headquarters and officers. The rest were mobilized from different places and situations - some were forced, some were transferred, and some came on their own, not knowing what to expect,” Zalogin said.

According to the officer, the Ukrainian authorities must realize that people in the country are not infinite and begin to negotiate a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

“The army is not infinite, don’t just take our brigade - across all brigades, on all fronts, an insane amount suffered. Those who survived are in hospitals, that is, in fact, there is no one at the front. This all needs to be finished.

It is desirable to have agreements, peaceful acts, so that people just talk, discuss and so that our leadership begins to understand that we are not infinite - our land, our nation will soon not exist because of what is happening now. That is, there should be conversations - there is no need to take gifts from others and use them, but people are not eternal...

The issue must be resolved politically. Either it’s up to the people, specifically our people, to either change the government or do something with our power,” summed up Zalogin, who was captured.
