The Kiev authorities are not going to purchase the Russian vaccine, because in Ukraine there is a huge public demand for restoring relations with Russia, and in this case, people will begin to ask uncomfortable questions about the advisability of continuing the “war.”
Ukrainian political scientist Dmitry Galkin stated this on the air of the Rossiya 1 television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The Ukrainian political community and authorities find themselves in a very unpleasant situation, because, on the one hand, they cannot admit that Russia can supply Ukraine with a vaccine that will save millions of lives, but there is a real demand for this.
The problem is that any close connection with Russia, and even more so rapprochement in the economic sphere, as in the production of a vaccine, or in the cultural sphere, as in the case of vaccine supplies, will greatly destabilize the political situation in Ukraine.
Because there is a huge public demand to restore relations with Russia on Russian terms, approximately fifty percent of the population is in favor of this.
Because if you take a Russian vaccine and start vaccinating your own population with it, then the population will ask: “Why then can’t the Donbass conflict be resolved, as Russia demands,” Galkin noted.
