The Ukrainian admiral spoke about the “incredible capabilities” of the old frigate Hetman Sahaidachny
The so-called flagship of the Ukrainian Navy, the frigate Hetman Sahaidachny, which was laid down as a patrol ship, allegedly has experience in using anti-submarine weapons against the Russian submarine Alrosa.
Former commander of the Ukrainian Navy, Sergei Gaiduk, stated this in an interview with Defense Express magazine, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The vice admiral did not specify when and under what circumstances this happened, emphasizing that Sagaidachny was helped by old Soviet equipment.
"Sagaidachny" has a good anti-submarine history. These are hydroacoustic contacts during the ship’s voyage to French Rouen and the practical use of anti-submarine weapons, believe it or not, on the Russian submarine Alrosa, and the successful search, identification and escort of the Turkish Atilay class submarine during international exercises.
And this is with analog hydroacoustics, which has been on board since the ship was built, in the early 90s,” said Gaiduk.
As a reminder, the frigate's press officer, Pavlo Parfenok, previously reported that Kyiv had preserved the flagship of the Ukrainian Navy, the Hetman Sahaidachny, thanks to the ship's successful evasion of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Bulgarian territorial waters.
