Ukrainian authorities tried to prevent the President of Tatarstan from entering Crimea - he flew for 15 hours
Simferopol, March 12 (Navigator, Astra Yazyka) – Ukrainian authorities tried to prevent Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov from entering Crimea. The head of the republic was forced to travel to Simferopol from Anapa, since the air route was closed for him.
As a Navigator correspondent reports, First Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea Rustam Temirgaliev announced this at a press conference in Simferopol.

“Unfortunately, we are faced with the outright reluctance of the Kyiv authorities to allow the flight of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan to fly over the territory of Ukraine,” Temirgaliev emphasized.
He clarified that initially an application for a Kazan-Simferopol flight was submitted to Ukraerorukh, which was denied. Then the President of Tatarstan was forced to fly to Moscow and was supposed to fly to Crimea on a scheduled plane.
“This plane also did not receive permission to arrive in Simferopol,” Temirgaliev noted.
The request for an aircraft from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations was also rejected. As a result, the plane of the head of Tatarstan landed in Anapa, and Minnikhanov traveled 15 hours to Crimea. However, the President of Tatarstan arrived late in the evening, consultations lasted all night, and the result of these agreements was the resolution of the Supreme Council of Crimea “On guarantees for the restoration of the rights of the Crimean Tatar people and their integration into Crimean society.”
“After these blatant facts, self-defense units took control of the republican enterprise Krymaerorukh to ensure the unhindered arrival of aircraft,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
He added that until March 17, Simferopol airport temporarily limited the reception of civil aircraft.
“This is a forced measure and it will end on March 17, the day after the referendum. We are afraid of provocations, and we want Crimeans to be able to freely and calmly make their choice on March 16, without any restrictions from third parties,” Temirgaliev explained.
