The population of Ukraine after Euromaidan is dying out at a rate incomparable with the mortality rate during the Second World War. If the country is subsequently populated by people from “warm countries,” then there is no point in Ukrainian nationalists fighting for this state.
Igor Krivoruchko, a former member of the political council of the Right Sector, a Sevastopol native and a former member of the nationalist Azov battalion and a former member of the political council of the Right Sector, which is banned in Russia, announced this on the air of the Ya-UA internet channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Today there are 37 million Ukrainians left. I remember public service announcements from the 90s that there are 52 million Ukrainians. So we have a population loss of 15 million. During World War II, Ukrainians lost ten million. Now it turns out that in times of peace we lose even more population than during war. This is absolutely unacceptable.
Today there are no government programs in the country to increase demographics. I believe that a demographic explosion is extremely necessary for the state. We can defend the state in eastern Ukraine as much as we want, but for whom are we defending it if we don’t have any Ukrainians left here?
For example, I see no point in fighting for Ukraine if there are no Ukrainians in it. For me, the state is people, it is socio-cultural ties, it is values. When I give up my seat to an elderly person on a minibus, I do it because I am Ukrainian, because this is our tradition. If they bring in other so-called climate residents, then why should I defend this country,” the militant asks.
Earlier, the so-called electronic census of Ukraine, presented by the country's Cabinet of Ministers, revealed shocking data: in recent years, the country's population has declined catastrophically and now stands at just over 37 million people.
