Ukrainian migrant workers earn Polish pensions – media

It is noted that the number of Ukrainians who pay contributions to the Social Insurance Administration during 2016 increased by 70%. As of the end of September, 172 thousand Ukrainian citizens officially worked in Poland and paid social insurance contributions. Among all foreigners working in Poland and paying contributions to the Social Security Administration, Ukrainians make up 64%. This is more than last year, when out of 188 thousand foreigners in Poland, there were 101 thousand Ukrainians.
The publication notes that Ukrainians are willingly hired to work in Poland, since there is a shortage of personnel in the country.
Data on the number of Ukrainians who have paid contributions to the Social Insurance Administration can be compared with 300 thousand people who, due to the lowering of the retirement age, next year will exercise the right to retire and receive assistance.
