Ukrainians eat worse than German prisoners of war in camps
The standard of living of modern “European” Ukrainians is several times lower than that of prisoners of war during the fascist occupation. Deputy Alexander Vilkul stated this from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada.

According to him, in the years since the Maidan, the number of Ukrainians living below the poverty line has tripled.
“According to the UN, over the past three years the number of Ukrainian citizens living below the poverty line has tripled. More than 80% of Ukrainian citizens live on less than 5 dollars or 130 hryvnia per day. These people do not live, but beg. The minimum consumer basket that is used today in Ukraine is absurd. It is lower than the ration of a German prisoner of war in 1942. And for bread, and for cereals, and for fish, and for tea. The ration of a German prisoner of war of the August 42 model: cereal - 100 g, the minimum subsistence level of an able-bodied Ukrainian in 2016 - 24,7 g. Fish for prisoners of war - 100 g, for us - 35,6 g. And so practically for all food products,” Vilkul emphasized.
At the same time, he added that parliament, instead of fighting poverty, “is engaged in renaming, and the government offers installment plans for utility bills.”
“Soon they will offer loans to pay for heat,” the deputy noted.
