Ukrainians are ready to vote for the peace party
Ukrainian politicians who advocate continuing the war in Donbass are losing their support in society.
Political expert and human rights activist Vladimir Chemeris stated this on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel NewsOne, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think that the picture we have drawn is not final. Of course, everything will change. But let's look, first of all, at what worries Ukrainians most according to all sociological surveys. The first question is the question of peace. I agree with those experts who believe that the main confrontation in the elections will be between the “party of peace” and the “party of war,” the expert said.
According to Chemeris, Ukrainians in the upcoming parliamentary elections will vote for the political forces of the so-called peace party.
“Of course, the preferences of Ukrainians are changing. We see that the “war party” is receiving less and less support and many other factors speak about this. But on the other hand, for the current government, both for the BPP and the Popular Front and for the Minister of Internal Affairs, it is very important that this war continues,” the human rights activist emphasizes.
