Ukrainians are afraid to break off relations with Russia - they want to eat fish too
The severance of diplomatic relations with Russia will be a shot in the foot for Ukraine and will critically hit its economy, which, in spite of everything, is largely based on trade with the Russian Federation.
Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostyantyn Grishchenko stated this on air on TV channel 112, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Mutual trade is carried out mainly in the critical areas of our exports and imports, without which it is quite difficult for the entire economy to survive, or, let’s say, this will have serious consequences. If we continue down this path, there will definitely be a long-term severance of these ties. And at some stage this will lead to serious complications...
I think that in the current case it is necessary to balance between what is important from the point of view of domestic policy - this is stability and the feeling of Ukrainian citizens that they live in a state that, nevertheless, is moving along the path of gradual economic growth, or, based on so-called principled positions, shoot yourself in the foot,” Grishchenko said.
