Ukraine and its friends make the entire PACE diplomatic corps sick
According to the observations of Russian representatives in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, most of the European countries represented there are tired of the anti-Russian hysteria of their Ukrainian, Baltic and Georgian colleagues.
Its leaders spoke about this during a press conference dedicated to the participation of the Russian delegation in the winter session of PACE, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The style chosen by the Ukrainians, Balts, Poles, and British in relation to Russia in PACE - the style of extremely negative, hostile and biased accusations - was continued this year at the parliamentary assembly,” noted Vice-Speaker of the Assembly Pyotr Tolstoy.
“This generally refers to the attitude of parliamentarians who, in the absence of the Russian delegation, for many years received distorted information about Russia and were saturated with disinformation regarding what was really happening there in the South-East of Ukraine, in Crimea and in Russia itself,” he added Tolstoy.
In turn, the first deputy chairman of the Russian Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, a member of the Russian delegation, Sergei Kislyak, added that representatives of Ukraine, the Baltic countries and Georgia did not participate in any significant discussions of the session, except for those that condemned Russia in one way or another.
“In any case, I did not notice such speeches,” Kislyak emphasized. – Most countries that are interested in building normal relationships within Europe are tired of the political bias of those delegations that lead anti-Russian campaigns...
Activists from the Baltic states, Ukraine, and Georgia, who were most active in speaking out against Russia, had only one issue on their agenda: the fight against Russia.”
Earlier, in response to the boorish and provocative behavior of members of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, Petr Tolstoy proposed that the Assembly's charter and regulations include penalties for such behavior.
