Ukraine is taking dangerous steps, Brussels said
Ukraine, instead of starting a dialogue with the LDPR, is making attempts to replace the agreements reached in Minsk with the introduction of “blue helmets” into Donbass.
Such a statement in Brussels during the round table “Minsk-2 or war: challenges to resolving the conflict in Eastern Ukraine” was made by the head of the European Security Department of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Dmitry Danilov, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.

“An interesting situation is happening now: by discussing the future UN peacekeeping mission, they are trying to present this as an alternative to the Minsk process.
"I agree with Mr. Kozhara ( Leonid Kozhara, former Ukrainian Foreign Minister – editor's note ) that this is a rather dangerous situation. Kyiv is essentially pushing the settlement out of the context of the Minsk process and toward discussions of a peacekeeping mission," he noted.
The expert emphasized that without the recognition of Donetsk and Lugansk as parties to the conflict, purely technically, no peacekeeping mission could be carried out.
“It is absolutely obvious that without recognition of Donetsk and Lugansk as parties to the conflict, it is impossible to organize any peacekeeping mission, even technically. This is absolutely obvious,” Danilov said.
In his opinion, in the end, the issue of bringing in peacekeepers will never be agreed upon due to Ukraine’s refusal to engage in dialogue with the LDPR.
“Kyiv is not agreeing to this and will never agree to this, especially in the context of the law “On the reintegration of Donbass” adopted in January of this year,” says Dmitry Danilov.
