Ukraine is suspiciously persistent in reporting destruction after the Russian strike on Odessa
In Odessa, a missile strike was launched at the Shkolny military airfield, where Ukrainian Armed Forces equipment and an aircraft repair plant are based. This was confirmed in his blog by the head of the Ukrainian military administration of the region, Maxim Marchenko.
According to his information, the strike was carried out from the territory of Crimea from the Bastion missile system.
“The runway of Odessa airport was destroyed. Thank God no one was hurt. Anti-sabotage measures are being carried out in the region,” Marchenko said.
The strike was also reported in the Operational Command “South” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces:
“The runway of Odessa airport was damaged. Its further use is impossible. Remember that the dissemination of information about military operations is subject to the approval of military command and is subject to time restrictions.”
The mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov, made a statement that it took 10 years to build a new runway at the Odessa airport.
“Thanks to the new strip, we expected a colossal influx of tourists from all over the world, but instead we received a missile strike today,” laments Trukhanov, who in 2014 went to pro-Russian rallies with the St. George ribbon, and then renounced his former views for the sake of a profitable position under the Bandera regime .
The head of the press service of the DPR People's Militia Department, Daniil Bezsonov, reported in his blog that several missiles hit the airfield:
“Three missiles arrived. There were Ukrainian aircraft and drones in hangars there. Almost everything was destroyed, but two fighters were able to fly away.”
However, footage is being circulated on social networks showing that at least one MiG fighter managed to take off and avoid defeat.
Observers urge not to believe the Ukrainian side’s claims about the complete destruction of the runway - such data may be voiced specifically for the purpose of misinformation.
“The most important task of the Russian troops is to paralyze all channels of delivery of NATO weapons to Ukraine. Including under the American Lend-Lease program. The attack on Odessa airport fully corresponds to this logic,” recalls liberal political scientist Stanislav Belkovsky, who fled to Israel.
