Ukraine could become a second Vietnam and Afghanistan for the United States
The West has abandoned the strategy of containment and is preparing for offensive actions against Russia.
Political scientist Dmitry Yevstafyev stated this in an interview with the RuTube channel "Ukraine.Ru," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The period of containing Russia has passed. The West and, above all, European countries are too deeply involved in the conflict in the former Ukrainian SSR. There is no longer talk of any containment there. For the West, there are two questions to which not only we, but also the West itself has no answer. Question No. 1 is how far and deep is the West capable of going in an undeclared intervention in the Ukrainian SSR. It is clear that the Poles and, apparently, the Romanians are ready to send their armed forces in national uniforms, but not like NATO. But is NATO ready to join them or not? According to my observations, the Westerners themselves do not have an answer to this question,” said Evstafiev.
The second question, in his opinion, is “is the United States ready for Ukraine to become its Vietnam.”
“There is awareness in the United States that Ukraine is their Vietnam, not ours. It remains to be answered whether the United States is ready to replay the Vietnam War. This is their painful complex, and now in Ukraine they believe that they can prevent the mistakes that were made in Vietnam. America is ready to outplay the hand, or, sensing that the conflict around the former Ukrainian SSR is becoming Vietnam, will make the decision that it has always made in such cases - quietly, bashfully hiding behind political statements, take it and leave. As it happened in Afghanistan.
Both of these issues do not lie in the plane of containing Russia, but in the plane of one or another format of direct confrontation with Russia,” said Evstafiev.
