Ukraine and Poland are at an impasse
Improving relations between Kiev and Warsaw is only possible if the Ukrainian government refuses to glorify Bandera’s supporters.

This opinion was expressed in a conversation with a PolitNavigator correspondent by political commentator Armen Gasparyan, commenting on the results of yesterday’s visit to Ukraine by Polish President Andrzej Duda.
“These negotiations have no prospects due to Kyiv’s position. They cannot refuse the glorification of Nazi criminals due to the fact that this is the foundation for the current existence of Ukraine in the form in which it has been since 2014, and, secondly, because if you remove it, you stop having the process of legitimizing these punitive battalions in the southeast,” the expert emphasized.
At the same time, he noted that Polish and Ukrainian politicians will gather at round tables more than once, but nothing will fundamentally change, since each side has relied on its heroes.
“They don’t fit together in any way. Moreover, the OUN leaders fought with Poland all the time in the 20s and 30s. How can this be combined? No way. Poroshenko, in fact, has only one option - to get rid of this Western historical heritage entirely. But he will not agree to this for completely understandable reasons. Just as the Poles will not agree to revise their history, since they are, in their own words, the legal successors of the second Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. This is an absolute dead end,” Gasparyan concluded.
Ukraine and Poland are at an impasse.
