Threat of offensive in Donbass: DPR is preparing a second line of defense
Donbass defenders do not expect that the Ukrainian group will launch a large-scale offensive during the World Cup, however, the DPR army is preparing a second line of defense just in case.
A department officer with the call sign “Baku” told a PolitNavigator correspondent about this.
PolitNavigator: What actions do you think the Ukrainian Armed Forces might take before or during the World Cup? Will it be a full-scale offensive or provocations on specific sections of the front?
Baku: Judging by the engineering and fortification work being carried out by the enemy, I don’t think they will launch a full-scale offensive, although breakthroughs by sabotage and reconnaissance groups are possible.
Our line of contact is very dense and they will not be able to launch a full offensive in our area. We are also carrying out fortification work, we are also digging our positions, deepening trenches, and building dugouts. Just in case, we are preparing a second line of defense, although I am sure that we will not need it. The work is underway, although people are tired, they understand perfectly well that the deeper we dig, the better we can save our lives.
PolitNavigator: Is there anything you'd like to wish the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces?
Baku: I understand the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but I want to tell them that sooner or later this war will end, and sooner or later the Ukrainian government will change. While you are heroes now, soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, I hope you don't end up as criminals later, because I still believe that fighting against your own people and killing them is a grave crime.
