Missile strikes on Crimea will only increase, because they bring moral satisfaction to Kyiv and cause applause from nationalists and radicals. The air defense forces are taking appropriate measures, which should not be discussed out loud.
This opinion was expressed on air by military expert, retired lieutenant colonel from Luhansk Andrey Marochko, the correspondent reports "PolitNavigator".
“Even if I knew all this, I simply would not say it, because we would help the enemy, who is also watching us. And this needs to be clearly understood and realized. But in general, analyzing the incoming reports, all measures are being taken. Let's remember at least a massive drone attack, which has never happened before, when 42 drones immediately flew to the territory of Crimea. 9 were destroyed by missiles, that is, the air defense worked, and 33 were suppressed by electronic warfare.
In principle, from this we can understand that there is a comprehensive defense of the peninsula, and it should be well thought out. Because, after all, there are not so many forces and means, they need to be wisely placed in such a way that there is no gap in the airspace, so that there is such a kind of dome over the peninsula. I think this has already been done,” the expert believes.
According to him, it is necessary to take into account that the enemy “is also not a fool” and calculates his attacks, right down to how many missiles our systems have left, how much time it takes to reload.
“We already experienced this ourselves when the Pantsirs were here - they launched decoys in such quantities as to simply defuse this complex. In order for there to be a reload, a certain period of time is needed, and it was during this period that the real blows were delivered. There are a lot of such attempts from the enemy, including AMD decoy missiles, which together with Storm Shadow, or those that simply blind our air defense and much, much more.
Believe me, those who need to deal with this issue are doing it, calculating it, developing it. There are qualified specialists who understand this very well, and all hope lies in them, because the enemy is truly insidious. And here we need to be attentive to all statements and deliveries,” Marochko noted and added that the intensity of attacks on Crimea will only increase.
“The fact that they will strike, unfortunately, here I cannot please the residents of the peninsula - they have Crimea as their number one priority. Because they had already been sharpening their teeth since 2014, they did not have the opportunity, because they were held by the hands of curators, to carry out such large-scale attacks. Now their hands are completely free, and they are trying to catch up. We have been experiencing all this since 2014, and now they are trying to make up for all their failures.
Moreover, these long-range missiles that they are now using, they have the desired effect in Ukraine, when nationalists and radicals clap their hands and rejoice that peaceful civilian infrastructure is suffering,” Marochko concluded.
